Medlock Partners are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and niche design, manufacturing and engineering business to help them appoint an experienced HR Manager on a part time basis.
  
As HR Manager, you will work closely with and advise the MD and wider Board on all aspects of generalist HR best practises. This standalone HR Manager role will require you to promote and continue to develop a positive culture that drives best practice and compliance with legislation in all people related areas of this SME business.

Key responsibilities of the HR Manager (part time):

  • Liaise with the MD and Board as applicable on HR related matters and provide relevant regulatory updates.
  • Lead on all employee relations casework, including sickness, absence, grievance and disciplinary, from investigation to end result; making recommendations, giving support and advice to managers.
  • Establish resourcing requirements, manage and participate in the full cycle of recruitment as needed, including apprenticeships, and full onboarding experience.
  • Maintain all HR related files and records using Sage HR.
  • Review HR policies & procedures, make recommendations and update, as necessary, in line with legislation.
  • Checking employee contracts are correct and up to date,
  • Responsible for starters, leavers, offers, contracts, references etc.
  • Overseeing and supporting annual reward activities such as salary and bonus review, and service awards.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to draw up succession plans to future proof the business.
  • Roll out Personal Development Plans and identify any training and create yearly training plans.
  • Support departments in the development and delivery of strategic HR plans to fit with the overall business direction.
  • Liaise with Apprenticeship providers and professional institutions.  

Key requirements for the HR Manager (part time):

  • You must be a proven HR generalist with a good mix of operational hands-on HR experience with flair for implementing HR strategy and aligning this to business goals.
  • Ideally you will be CIPD qualified or part qualified, however, solid HR experience is key to be considered for this role.
  • Ideally you will have worked in a similar manufacturing and/or engineering environment, however this is not essential criteria.
  • You will have strong IT and systems skills in particular Excel.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Due to my client’s location, it is essential that you are a car driver/owner.
