Salary circa £55,000 + bonus, private health

Medlock Partners have recently been engaged by our client, a successful international professional service provider with offices based in Chorley as they look to appoint a qualified Management Accountant in a newly created role.
Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, the Management Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all financial information and reporting for the business unit, as well as providing financial information, analysis and meaningful financial information that will facilitate strategic decision making.
  
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all month end, quarter end and year end transactions are properly recorded and entered into the accounting system in accordance with group policies.
  • Prepare variance gap analysis with commentary comparing actuals to forecast.
  • Reconciliation of control accounts, working capital management.
  • Deliver accurate monthly and quarterly corporate reporting on time according to internal portfolio and group deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly management pack reporting to be issued to the wider business.
  • Take a lead role in co-ordinating with the business leadership team to produce the quarterly forecast and reporting for submission, including preparation of analysis and commentary to present to senior management.
  • Play an active role as part of the team, engaging with employees across cost centres.
  • Work with the leadership team to develop and deliver the financial plans as agreed.
  • Produce revenue analysis and P&L monitoring, attrition, pricing analysis and performance monitoring to aid planning and forecasting.
  • Anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances and develop action plans to measure and analyse results.
  • Review business performance against forecasts and agree on corrective action with the management teams.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects within the business and add value by providing financial input.
  • Create and implement processes to drive sustainable improvements in the efficiency of business processes and the finance function.
  • Evaluate operational expenditure, propose and implement suggestions to improve cost efficiencies for the business.

  
The successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, a proactive attitude and the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through the presentation of effective verbal and written financial information.
  
The ideal candidate will be a recently qualified Financial/Management Accountant (practice trained or industry), with a commitment to continuous improvement and an appetite to deliver high quality results under a strict reporting schedule.
